A medicine submitted five times appears five times, often for different indications and with different outcomes. Counting rows and calling the result "medicines" gives a wrong number. 1,048 medicines produced 3,035 submissions.
"Recommended" means the committee said yes. A PBS listing follows only after price and deed negotiation — and sometimes never happens. This record cannot tell you whether a medicine is on the PBS today, only what the PBAC decided and when.
Every submission carries a marker for how its decision was determined. parsed (1,554) — read directly from the document's own outcome section, in the PBAC's wording. checked (1,237) — read by a model and corroborated by the document's structure. weak (244) — the document held no machine-readable outcome, or its two structural signals disagreed. Verify a weak row against the source document before saying it out loud.
